You wake up. Your skull is buzzing. You don’t know where you are, then you remember last night. A party, you follow the traces. But it seems like your 13 hosts have disappeared. The house of the antagonists is empty. You walk through its thirteen rooms, hungover. You don’t know what you are looking for and you don’t know what your job is. You listen to the house and the stories you find. You wander through trippy hallways, talk to bathroom mirrors and hope for answers. You try to remember. Why did the Star shove an e-cigarette into the corner of your mouth and say: let’s get out of here! What did the Rock mean when they whispered: “The glitch is not the failure, but the correction of a system!” What is on the Executioner’s to-do list and why has the Accomplice been writing fan mail to Jeff Bezos for over ten years? The deeper you dive into this online fabric, the more questions arise. Who are you in this Universe?

BNSL is a collaborative art project by Maurice Wald and Felix Ansmann that is engaged in the aesthetics of artificial intelligence and computation as ontological system. Their works explore esoteric conceptions of technology and alternative narratives of technological progress through an appropriation and recontextualization of extractive digital technologies. They trace processes of disenchantment and corporatization and corporatization and critically reflect power mechanisms in which digital technologies are embedded.
